Academic Performance Index (API) - 2009 Growth
Community Day
(CDS code 49-73882-6118400)

California's public school students take part annually in statewide testing known as the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) program, and schools are assigned an Academic Performance Index (API) based on results from STAR testing. Under the federal law known as No Child Left Behind (NCLB), from 2003 forward the API is also used to evaluate schools for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).

The following 2009 Growth API report, from data initially released in late summer 2009, shows results from tests given in spring 2008 (which established the baseline and growth targets) and spring 2009 (which measured if the growth target was met).

Note: A double dash indicates no data because the size of the subgroup is too small to qualify as "significant" in this school. To be significant, a subgroup must have 100 pupils or be 15% of total enrollment with at least 50 pupils with valid test scores in both the Growth and Base years.

N/R indicates data not reported prior to 2008-09.

For 2008-09 and subsequent years, the total number of students in the Base API will not be equal to the sum of the subgroup student numbers since students selecting multiple race/ethnicity categories and students with no response to race/ethnicity are not included in any student racial/ethnic subgroup. Moreover, there is overlap in the Other Subgroups and Ethnicities subgroups.

The complete API results and backup detail are on the California Department of Education web site. These include the API and growth target for the school as a whole and for ethnic and socioeconomic subgroups that are "numerically significant." You will also find details of the school's demographic characteristics used for comparisons.
